JONES SPEAKS AT WILLIAM L. WAINWRIGHT DINNER
NEW BERN, N.C.— Bryson K. Jones, candidate for North Carolina House of
Representatives, District 79, spoke at the Inaugural William L. Wainwright Dinner
hosted by the Craven County Democratic Party at the Flame Banquet Center, Nov. 4,
2017, in New Bern, North Carolina.
The annual fundraising dinner was named in honor of Reverend Wainwright who
represented citizens of Craven and Lenoir Counties in the North Carolina House of
Representatives for more than 20 years.
Jones spoke immediately following the dinner portion of the evening and introduced
himself and spoke of needed change to the hundreds of people in attendance.
“We can’t battle the poison of the opioid crisis, or provide services to those so
desperately in need without healthcare,” Jones said. “We cannot grow a new
generation of young leaders and business men and women without education. We
cannot keep treating each other with such disdain and hate, or hide behind our
computers and threaten folks due to their race, religion, sexuality or creed. We cannot
live where we are destroying.”
Jones also had the opportunity to meet and speak with the dinner’s keynote speaker,
Justice Michael R. Morgan, Associate Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court.
